Mr.Prabhu received a scholarship from Government for doing his B.Tech in IIT. He believes that poor meritorious students need financial assistance from public as well. So Mr.Prabhu started giving scholarships to poor meritorious students since 1995-96. Nearly 20,000 poor meritorious students of all castes and religions have received scholarships trough the trust “KRISHNADEVARAYA AID FOR POOR AND UNDERPRIVILEGED” in the last 18 years. In this 18th year 2012-13 scholarships assistance will amount to Rs.2.50 Crores. In the year 2011-12 Rs.2.00 Crores was disbursed, out of this Rs.1.90 Crores was sponsored by Mr.Prabhu’s flagship company Tulasi Seeds and rest Rs.10 Lakhs were collected from like minded persons.

Mr. Tulasi Ramachandra Prabhu, Chairman of Tulasi Group of Companies, started a small scale industry for manufacturing corrugated boxes in Guntur in the year 1977 under Technocrats Scheme introduced by Andhra Pradesh Govt. Since then Mr. Prabhu never looked back and he established 16 Small and Medium enterprises in Guntur while achieving a sales turnover to the tune of Rs.400 crores.
Now these group of companies are popularly known as “Tulasi Group”.
Since the last 35 years,Tulasi Group has expanded into various fields, by setting up businesses with social responsibility as a primary goal. Today, as a group, we have created employment for over 1500 people throughout the nation, mostly in rural areas.

With a goal of developing responsible citizens to the society, we have established “Krishnadevaraya Aid” trust through which we provide few crores worth of scholarships to poor and meritorious students every year.
